Water absorbs light by wavelength. Red is essentially gone by about 5 metres, orange by 10, and yellow by 20 — so with depth everything drifts toward blue-green. DeepColors reverses that absorption instead of just adding a fixed red filter, which is why the result looks natural rather than over-corrected.

Yes. Export your correction as a .cube 3D LUT and apply it in any editor that supports LUTs, so your DeepColors grade travels with the footage. Exact reproduction can vary with each editor's color management — DaVinci Resolve gives the closest match.
